Bring the ghouls and goblins to work

Halloween is quickly approaching.  Have you figured out what costumes your kids are going to use?

One of the tough things for kids to come to grasp with is that when mom and dad are at work, they are in a very specific place working with very specific people.  They hear the words, but never get to see them.

If you have the opportunity, bring the kids into work for Halloween.  There are so many good reasons to do this including:

• You get one more use out of the costumes which means they are significantly cheaper per time used.
• Your friends at work will quit asking you about photos for a few weeks.
• Your kids will actually get to see your cubicle and the crazy guy you always complain about when he forgets to clean up the microwave when he splatters.
• Your kids will get some free candy which always makes their day.
• You will get to see your kids at work.

This works best if you have somebody that can bring the kids in so they don’t have to stay all day or if you arrange to work a short day.  Always talk to your boss about it first.  Some companies have issues with kids walking around their dangerous equipment.

The only thing you really need to be careful of is to keep your kids away from the people you make fun of.  You do not want to deal with the inevitable, “Wow.  Your chin really does look like a butt.”
